TITLE: SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT

LOCATION: ATLANTA, GEORGIA

 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Position is responsible for working with New Prouct Development, Engineering and IT Application Development teams to translate business goals into appropriate strategies and technical solutions.

2. Position is responsible for leading high level design of solutions to meet business needs while adhering to DPS technical standards and leveraging current investments and resources. May assist in selecting appropriate technologies to support business needs.

3. Responsible for creating and maintaining systems documentation, inclusive of but not limited to: high level design diagrams, systems use-cases, data flow diagrams and entity-relationship diagrams.

4. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the supported business systems and a working knowledge of interdependencies with other enterprise and external systems.

5. Develops proposals and business cases for advancement of technology or processes within the supported function.

6. Provides research and evaluation efforts for area of responsibility.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. Position requires an understanding of multiple functional areas including customer facing applications and back office functions including provisioning and billing.

2. The ability to identify and quantify business process improvements along with system improvements through the use of technology is critical.

3. Knowledge and experience of System Engineering including Lifecycle, Standards, Methods, Processes, Tools is required.

4. Experience with Web application development, Database applications, scalable server architectures, Java, Java development for Web environments, J2EE, Web Services and SOA, Web 2.0 technologies, .Net development , Windows, Linux, Solaris, e-Commerce Platforms is preferred.

5. Proactively engages with others in order to influence through the exchange of information and opinions. Interfaces with key users, process owners, and functional management

6. Able to quickly understand informal networks.

7. Exemplary verbal and written communications and organization skills.

8. Experience with budget development and expense management.

9. Proficient in the use of basic desktop support tools like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Visio

10. At least five years experience in a Telecommunications or ISP environment in an operations or architecture role.

11. Must have a college degree. A degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related discipline is preferred.

12. Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment.
