Sr Project Manager, Application Development

Job Description

Macy’s (Central) is looking for a top-notch Project Manager with
experience in IT as it relates to retail business. The ideal candidate
will have a retail background and be able to be customer/vendor facing
and also effectively communicate with VP level employees. Typical job
duties will include managing the development and implementation of MCC
EUC software applications. Manage the day-to-day activities and
scheduling of programming staff. Manage and support the integration of
new technology, i.e. software, third party applications, and hardware
components. Interact with the end user community to design and plan
implementation of applications. Support and document existing systems
and applications. Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects
and shifting priorities. Must have extensive problem-solving skills to
overcome barriers such as access to data, processing or software
limitations, and HR issues. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: 20%
Requirements/Analysis and design 10% Systems support/maintenance 50%
Management of projects, including resource allocation 10% Direct staff
(reviews, counseling, feedback) 10% Documentation of systems and
processes

Requirements

Must have Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Computer Science or
MIS, possibly Mathematics or Finance. Should have experience in IT
development and management, strong math skills, VB/VBA, web development,
and relational database skills. Retail experience or application
development experience within the retail industry highly recommended. PC
Competencies: May include Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office & VBA,
Visual Basic/ASP.NET, Relational Database - MS SQL preferred, Microsoft
Visual Studio, web development - intranet, EZtrieve. Must understand
basic retailing concepts such as merchandising, logistics, and planning.
