China Mobile plans to work with HTC Corporation to bring Android-powered mobile devices to China, according to a report in Trading Markets. Although it initially planned to offer an Android device later this year, the operator now reports it may be Q2 2009 before it has a device ready.
The cause is a delay in open mobile systems based applications development.
While the United States waits for the Android device to go on sale Oct. 20, the Android platform could earn instant global credibility with a significant launch in Asia.
