C.N. (Madhu) Madhusudan is the founder and CEO of VectorSpan Inc., an enterprise focused on enabling companies to plan their growth/exit strategy, engineer inorganic growth and make integration and cross border transactions successful.
He was an early member of the team that built NIIT in India. In 1991, he relocated to the US to build NIIT’s first overseas presence for its outsourcing businesses. As NIIT’s US President and COO, he led NIIT’s largest overseas operation and was nominated twice for the Atlanta International Business Award for outstanding leadership and role in the growth of Atlanta as an international business center. Subsequently, he became President of NIIT Ventures and led new venture investment initiatives and acquisitions in the US and Europe.
An accomplished deal maker, his core competencies include strategic analysis, business evaluation, cross border issues management, transaction management and complex negotiations.
He is a TIE mentor, President of TiE Atlanta and past Chairman of the Board of the Georgia Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (GIACC). As a speaker, he has addressed audiences at events of the World Bank, IFC, IMF, Institute for International Research, World Education Market, Council for Entrepreneurial Development, GeorgiaTech, Emory University, Columbia Business School, Ross School of Business, SIBF, IIT Mumbai and UNESCO.
He received the 2007 “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award”, for innovation, leadership and vision in business. As a philatelist he has won several awards in international exhibitions and was recognized by the Government of India for his services to Indian Philately.
He studied at the St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore, and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. His professional education includes Business Evaluation at the Harvard Business School.
Harold Ball is an analytics strategy consultant and serial entrepreneur, with over twenty years of experience applying advanced math to solve problems in marketing, financeand operations. In 2006, he founded his venture fund, Collinear Ventures Inc., as a way to continue to build innovative approaches to business problems and to invest in new ideas.
He holds a BA in Economics from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. While a college student, he started his first venture, the proceeds of which covered much of the costs of his education. He also holds an MS and PhD in Economics from Georgia State University in Atlanta. At GSU, Harold served as an instructor in microeconomics and an econometrics research assistant. His doctoral thesis was in theoretical microeconomics, and his studies have focused on applied econometrics and analytical techniques.
Harold began his professional career with Magnum Communications Ltd, a software development firm that pioneered digital communication of credit and financial data between lenders and credit bureaus in the 1970ʼs. He also worked for MDS Decision Systems (now part of Experian), where he applied econometrics and other data mining methods to credit risk analysis, fraud detection, and collections management. And he spent four years with the BellSouth Corporation, creating and leading their database marketing and customer analytics functional areas.
In 2000, Harold founded SRI Analytics, a consulting firm staffed with diverse, heavymath types who were notable for their creativity and ability to interact directly with both executive and end-user clients. SRI created novel approaches for mining customer data to drive incremental benefit, including work in complex event analysis, trigger detection for churn management and customer retention, customer-offer optimization algorithms. SRIʼs consulting work also focused heavily on implementing analytical culture changes within large organizations. SRIʼs 18 consultants served leading companies, including BellSouth, Verizon, ProtectionOne, Habitat for Humanity, Rosetta Stone, Home Depot and MGM/Mirage. SRI was acquired by Aspen Marketing Services in 2005, and following the acquisition, Harold served as the President of Aspen Analytics.
In 2008, Harold co-founded Five x Five, a marketing optimization software and consulting firm (fivexfive.com). Five x Five builds complex decision software that enables a constrained optimization layer on top of predictive analytics. Its tools are used for cross-channel marketing mix analysis, virtual storefront and brick-and-mortar retail merchandising optimization, media and video-on-demand optimization, and customer recommendation management. Five x Five serves many leading brands, including AT&T, Verizon, Cox, Comcast, Turner Broadcasting, Delta Airlines, The Home Depot, Reckitt Benckiser, Gaylord Entertainment, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Equifax, USAA, The Hartford, Orkin, and American Red Cross.
Harold also serves as a Fellow within Georgia Institute of Technologyʼs Venturelab (venturelab.gatech.edu), and an Advisor within its Advanced Technology Development Center (atdc.org). He is currently mentoring eight technology start-ups who seek to build innovation and competitive differentiation through analytical methods. And he is a frequent university speaker, discussing business analytics and data mining, and how to use these tools strategically and as sources of innovation. Harold continues to seek new analytical problems that are both challenging to define and difficult to solve, and is actively looking for interesting startups in which to invest.
Attorney Lucy Lu is recognized by international businesses and investors as one of the country’s leading immigration attorneys. As a founding member of Lucy Lu & Associates LLC (www.lucylulaw.com) and its Managing Partner of Immigration Law Practice, she has years of successful business immigration experience.
Her practice focuses on:

Ms. Vivien Fang Peaden joined Lucy Lu & Associates LLC after years of experience in business immigration law. Ms. Peaden brings to the firm her extensive expertise in advising corporate & institutional clients on Labor Certification Applications, H-1B visas, TN and other immigrant & non-immigrant visas. Ms. Peaden specializes in advising software development firms on effectively proving the employer-employee relationship, demonstrating foreign three-year degree equivalency and documenting corporate financial ability to pay for I-140 immigrant petitions. Over the years, she has built an impressive track record of obtaining approval for visa petitions subject to detailed USCIS Requests for Evidence. She also assists foreign entrepreneurs in establishing and developing business investment in the U.S. through the L and E nonimmigrant visa categories, and the EB-5 Immigrant Investor category. Vivien regularly represents corporate and individual clients before the Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals (BALCA) and Administration Appeal Office (AAO). Ms. Peaden received her LLB from Shanghai International Studies University of Shanghai, China. She was one of the eight winners of Jones Day International Legal Fellowships, selected from a competitive pool of law students from universities in Shanghai. Ms. Peaden moved to the U.S. as an F-1 student to attend Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned a J.D. degree. During law school, Ms. Peaden interned with two U.S. District Court Judges in Las Vegas, Nevada and Nashville, Tennessee, where she gained exposure to reviewing immigration-related federal litigation proceedings. She also worked as a law clerk with the Vanderbilt University Office of General Counsel, where she assisted university counsel on various employment and immigration matters. Prior to joining Lucy Lu & Associates LLC, Ms. Peaden worked with two other respected business immigration firms advising clients in the IT, manufacturing, education, pharmaceutical, financial, retail and other business sectors.
