I'm very interested in the evolution of what we're now calling cloud-based computing. When I track my own evolution through networking technologies, with a slant toward telecommunications, I can't help but make a strong comparison to hosted services. We've seen hosted Centrex evolve to hosted VoIP solutions. Now we're seeing the beginnings of hosted enterprise business applications moving more and more toward Communications Enhanced Business Processes (CEBP). I'd argue Salesforce.com is a strong example of that.

Google's Android Market hasn't been open a full week, but already some application download patterns are suggesting how the OS will compare--and contrast--with Apple's rival App Store. BOSTON — A day after the release of the first cellphone powered by Google Inc.’s Android software, the founder of the startup that initially developed the software took the Mobile Internet World keynote stage to explain the reasons behind the search giant’s much-hyped effort.

China Mobile plans to work with HTC Corporation to bring Android-powered mobile devices to China, according to a report in Trading Markets. Although it initially planned to offer an Android device later this year, the operator now reports it may be Q2 2009 before it has a device ready.
